Show Up, Break Resistance

"To eat an elephant one bite at a time, the first step must be taken."

No matter how you feel or what you are going through, just show up, and everything else will follow. We tend to think—myself included—that we need all the pieces in place before we’re "ready" to take action. But the truth is, simply by showing up and placing ourselves in the space we want to impact, the rest will follow. Because it is our own resistance that holds us back—the voice that says we don’t deserve more, shouldn’t accept more, or can’t share more. That same resistance convinces us we aren’t capable of setting ourselves up for success.

As two quotes I heard in the past say: "The journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step." – Lao Tzu. And "You can get 'good enough' at almost anything in 20 hours of focused effort. The problem is, most people spend years delaying the first hour." – Alex Hormozi.

Every great achievement starts with the willingness to just begin, no matter how big the task feels. The journey may seem overwhelming, but we have control over the first step. And once we take that step, we must shut down both external and internal noise—the resistance—so that we don’t collapse under the weight of doubt. By breaking things into smaller, manageable pieces, we build the mental strength and resilience to handle what’s ahead. Just like eating an elephant one bite at a time. And through it all, we must trust that God never gives us a test or a task too great for us to bear.

Down the road, we realize God met us where we were all along. He wasn’t holding us back—He was preparing us. He set the scene for us to step into what we asked for.

So remember this: fear and hesitation are just barriers in the mind. Show up. Engage. Take the step. Because resistance fades when action takes its place.
